Generative Search Monitor

The Generative Search Monitor allows you to track your brand's visibility across AI-powered search engines like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. This powerful feature helps you understand how your brand appears in generative AI responses and monitor competitor mentions.

Superlines automatically generates a list of search queries that are relevant to your brand and your target audience. We uses these queries to automatically test your brand's visibility in AI search results and compare your brand's visibility against your competitors.

Overview

Generative AI search engines are changing how people find information online. Unlike traditional search engines that return links, generative AI provides direct answers that may or may not mention your brand. The Generative Search Monitor helps you:

  • Track your brand visibility in AI search results
  • Monitor competitor mentions
  • Analyze AI responses for specific queries
  • Identify content opportunities based on AI search behavior

Getting Started

Accessing Generative Search Monitor

  1. Log in to your Superlines account
  2. From the left sidebar, click on "Generative Search"
  3. You'll see the Generative Search Monitor dashboard with your current metrics

Dashboard Overview

The Generative Search Monitor dashboard displays:

  • Search Queries: The number of queries you're tracking (e.g., "5 / 50 queries used")
  • Last Analysis: When the last analysis was run (e.g., "Feb 26, 2025")
  • Analysis Available This Month: Your monthly quota and usage (e.g., "4 / 4")
  • Next Scheduled Analysis: When the next automated analysis will run

Adding Search Queries

To track how your brand appears in AI search results:

  1. Click the "+ Add a Query" button at the bottom of the query list
  2. Enter the search query you want to monitor (e.g., "Where can I find quality hair care products online?")
  3. Click "Add" to save the query
  4. Superlines will analyze this query during the next scheduled analysis

Focus on queries that:

  • Are relevant to your industry
  • Use natural language (how people actually ask questions)
  • Include your target keywords
  • Might mention your products or services

Understanding the Results

For each query, the monitor shows:

  • Brand Visibility: Percentage indicating how often your brand appears in AI responses
  • Total Mentions: Number of times your brand was mentioned across all AI models
  • Unique Mentions: Number of different contexts where your brand was mentioned
  • Actions: Options to view detailed results or remove the query

Viewing Detailed AI Responses

To see the actual AI responses:

  1. Click the "View" icon (eye symbol) in the Actions column
  2. A modal will appear showing the query and all AI model responses
  3. Each response shows which AI model generated it (e.g., GPT-3.5, GPT-4)
  4. The system highlights whether your brand was mentioned

Competitor Analysis

The Competitor Analysis section helps you track how often competitors are mentioned in AI responses:

  • View total mentions for each competitor
  • Compare your brand visibility against competitors
  • Identify which competitors are gaining traction in AI search results

Adding Competitors to Track

Superlines automatically detectes the competing brands that are mentioned in AI chat responses. We also read the competitors that are saved in the Brand Hub:

  1. Go to "Settings" > "Brand Settings"
  2. Scroll to the "Competitors" section
  3. Add your main competitors
